Sarah Holland-Batt nació en Southport, Queensland, en 1982 y ha residido tanto en Australia como en Estados Unidos. Ha recibido la WG Walker Memorial Fulbright Scolarship, las becas Yaddo y McDowell y la Australia Council Literature Residency en el BR Whiting Studio (Roma). Su primer libro, Aria (UQP, 2008) ganó diversos premios como el Thomas Shapcott Poetry Prize, el ArtsACT Judith Wright Award y el FAW Anne Elder Award y fue seleccionado entre los finalistas del New South Wales Premier?s Kenneth Slessor Prize y el Queensland Premier?s Judith Wright Calanthe Award.
