VIVES CASES, CARMEN

Carmen Vives-Cases is Public Health Professor at the Department of Community Nursing, Preventive Medicine and Public Health and History of Science at the University of Alicante (UA) since 2001. She is a sociologist (Bachelor 1998 and Doctor 2004) and Public Health Master (2005). She was also associated editor of Gaceta Sanitaria (the main public health journal in Spain) (2010-2016), MC Substitute [IS1206 ES] to COST Action IS1206 "Femicide across Europe" (2013-2017) and Vice-President (2012-2016) and President (2016-2018) of the Spanish Scientific Association of Epidemiology. She has directed several research projects in the areas of epidemiology of gender-based violence against women (prevalence, incidence, health consequences, as well as their social determinants and evaluation of responses from the health sector) and immigration, ethnic minorities and public health. She is coordinating the European project ?Lights, Camera and Action against dating violence? (available at http://www.lights4violence.eu/) from this publication arises. She is the author of more than 100 articles published in indexed journals about this issue (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6797-5051).
